ABSTRACT
A Pseudomonas species isolated from soil designated as Pseudomonas aeruginosa S-CSR-0009 was found to be producing alkaline protease enzyme. The enzyme showed its maximum activity at a pH of 9, and temperature 40o C. Skim milk powder was found to be the appropriate substrate for maximum enzyme production at 3% concentration. The enzyme activity remained stable up to a temperature of 40°C and a pH of 9. The study confirmed that the isolated Pseudomonas aeruginsa S-CSR-0009 could be a good source of alkaline protease which can be exploited for pharmaceutical and industrials applications.
