Kunhi, A.A.M. 2013. GM Crops & Food Security – Issues and Prospects. Invited Lecture at Safi Institute of Advanced Study (SIAS), Vazhayoor East, Kerala, India under the auspices of FRIENDS OF NATURE, an NGO on the occasion of National Science Day Celebrations-2013 on 28th Feb. 2013.

The presentation dealt with the necessity to increase the food production to feed the ever-increasing global population. Touched upon various means of increasing the food production. The genetic methods of increasing crop productivity was discussed in detail emphasising modern methods of recombinant technology. Various issues related to the genetically modified crops with regard to their safety, cultural and religious aspects were discussed.
